OsoCozy Organic Unbleached Prefold Cloth Diapers

The same Osocozy prefolds that you love are now available in 100% GOTS certified organic cotton. Better Fit prefolds are sized to be tri-folded into a diaper cover.  All sizes can be used as a traditional or trifold diaper depending upon the size of your baby and personal preference.  Each size attractively surged in two toned surging colors that allow for easy size identification.

OsoCozy Indian prefolds are 100% cotton twill weave cloth diapers. They start out incredibly soft and absorbent, and they become even softer with washing. Wash these cloth diapers a few times in hot water, and they fluff up beautifully! As with all cloth prefolds these will shrink 5-10%.

How many layers? The 3-part number (4x6x4) refers to the number of fabric layers in each of the three panels of the prefold, with the middle panel being the thickest. Most home users prefer the heavier 4x8x4 prefolds because of the added absorbency. Most diaper services use 4x6x4 prefolds to cut down energy and time needed for drying, and they supply enough diapers for frequent diaper changes. If you are washing at home, start with 4x8x4 then size down if you find those too bulky for your baby.

Bleached vs unbleached prefolds? Our prefer unbleached cotton prefolds. Because unbleached diapers retain much of their natural cotton oil in the fiber, they are softer and more durable than bleached cloth diapers.

Prep diapers before using. Unbleached prefold cloth diapers must be washed and dried on hot at least 2-3 times after you receive them before they become absorbent. Test absorbency by making a pocket of the diaper and slowly pouring in 1/2 cup of water. If the water pools rather than soaking in quickly, keep washing. DO NOT use fabric softener, which would coat the fibers and cause repelling. Despite the added effort necessary to break in these diapers, they are extremely popular and by most accounts well worth it.
